Hi I saw that you say you can freeze the 1/2 gallons of milk. Do you know how long it keeps once you defrost it? Thanks and Thank you so much for all that you do on this blog. My sister in law told me about your blog and I check it on a regular basis. :-)

Hi and welcome!! The milk keeps about as long as it would keep if it was not frozen. We go through milk pretty quickly so I haven't really tested this--we've never had a problem with it going bad. It does take a long time to defrost, though. I usually just leave it on the counter overnight and it still has ice in it in the morning. Then I stick it in the fridge. Hope that helps!

By the way, you can freeze gallon milk too--it just takes forever to defrost!

Some people like to pour a little milk out before they freeze it because it does expand. I just stick mine in the freezer how they are and I've never had a problem.

Allison, I have been checking your site for about three months now! Thank you so much for all of your hard work! I noticed something this week that I thought could be useful. I live in Goodyear, but work in Tempe. Every week, one of my co-workers leaves the sale ads for all to see. I noticed that this past week's Fry's ad was different from what I received at home. One instance was 1/2 gallon milk for $.88 and 93% ground beef for $1.79/ lb. And the Tempe one didn't mention the double and triple coupons. Is this typical?
